Using a Payment to Reopen an Account

An account can be reopened based on a payment being applied. Below are the options used to make this happen:

• Close codes (system control menu - close codes) have a field called "open on payment transaction". Accounts can be reopened automatically whenever a payment is applied to a closed account
• Payment codes (system control menu 2 – payment/adjustment codes) have a field called "smart code to be applied". You can create a smart code that will reopen an account and have it be applied to an account every time a payment is applied
