Powering Down Your System

• To safely power down your AS/400, you need to have access to the command line
• While at an AS/400 command line, type in go power, then press the enter key. This will bring up the power on and off tasks menu, which allows you to power off your system immediately, or set up a schedule of times for your system to be powered off then back on

Note: Do not use this feature for the regular power down and IPL of your system in the nightly, our programming handles those needs. This feature is for those occasions when you need to: 

•  Power off your system right now, like if a storm is approaching 
•  Have you machine off for a few days, like when your office is being remodeled
