For details on purchasing MelissaData updates please read article Purchasing the MelissaData Time Zone and Area Code Files.
Download the FONE*DATA files from MelissaData.
Make sure you check the README files for the exact number of records that should be in files, as you will need to verify these records on the PC and I-Series
Once you have the necessary files from MelissaData:
- Create the library FONEDATA in the I-Series
- Load the FONE.DAT and CNTY.DAT files into a PC that has access to the I-Series
Make sure the files on the PC have the proper number of records (compare number of records in PC file with number of records in README file, they should be no more than around 10 records difference)
- Transfer the FONE.DAT and CNTY.DAT files to the I-Series
Note: If you FTP the files, do not ftp in binary
- Go to I-Series and access the files in the FONEDATA library
- Copy or rename the files on the I-Series to FONE.DAT and CNTY.DAT
Make sure the files on the I-Series have the proper number of records (compare number of records in I-Series file with number of records in README file, they should be no more than around 10 records difference)
Running the upload process on the I-Series:
Go to the I-Tel menu -> I-Tel system control options -> phone number maintenance options -> create area code and time zone files (data required in FONEDATA)
Note: You will need to run this option when no one is on the dialer and there are no locks on the SCITLTZ file - (requires a dedicated system)
Note: After processing check the file SCITLTZ in SCDATA - add the total records field and total deleted records fields together. The total should be within 10 or so records of the README files. If it is not, double check the FONE and CNTY files. If any of these numbers look incorrect, then either the files were not copied completely or were copied incorrectly during the process or the system was not dedicated during the upload process and the SCITLTZ file had a lock on it.
NOTE: The MelissaData file MUST be loaded correctly in order for Time Zone processing to work!
