Printing out a Data File

  • You can print out a data file by using the copy file - CPYF command on the AS/400.

For example, if you wanted to print out a copy of a file named example in library sample, you would type CPYF at a command line, and then prompt the command by hitting the F4 key.

Then, fill in the fields to match below.

Copy File (CPYF)

From file . . . . . . . . > example            Name

Library . . . . . . . . sample                    Name, *LIBL, *CURLIB

To file . . . . . . . . .*PRINT Name,             *PRINT

Leave the remaining fields at their default values.
