Backing up the AS400 IBM Programs

By IBM programs, we are referring to the operating system and program products such as query or the RPG compiler. This software is supplied by IBM and is different from the RMEx software which is supplied by Quantrax.

• We recommend you backup all your IBM programs quarterly, every time you load PTFs and when you upgrade the operating system
• You must always have a copy of your IBM software in case you have a system failure and have to reload your system software
• There are different methods of saving the IBM software and these options are described in the IBM documentation you received with your system 
• You must review this documentation and make sure you always have a backup of the IBM software
