If the letter failed report prints the message "letter not defined" for a group of accounts, but you believe the letter is set up correctly:
- If the letter is a standard letter:
Check to make sure the standard letter has been set up and there is text on the first page. Text must appear on the first page - If the letter is a special letter:
Check to make sure the special letter has been set up for the company in which the letter is failing and there is text on the first page. Text must appear on the first page
Note: If the letter format is set up properly and you continue to get the message on the letter failed report, it usually means that someone attempted to also set up the opposite letter format but did not complete the process.
If you do not want both the special and standard letters in a specific company, go into the letter format you do not want and see if a blank screen appears. If so it usually means someone accessed the screen and hit F12 which created the letter format without text. You need to delete the letter format you do not want by using the "delete a letter format" option. This should solve the problem and the letters will be generated the next day.
